The Koret School of Veterinary Medicine was established in 1985 and is the only institution that teaches veterinary medicine in Israel. The school operates within the Faculty of Agriculture at the Hebrew University in Rehovot.
The studies for a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree last for four years, and applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in life sciences from various academic institutions throughout the country.
The school operates on two campuses. The basic research and studies for the first and second years take place at the Faculty of Agriculture campus in Rehovot while, the bio-medical research and clinical studies for the third and fourth years are conducted mainly at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital located on the Veterinary Institute campus in Rishon LeZion.
In addition, the school offers advanced degree programs, including a master's program, doctoral program and a master's program in veterinary public health. There are also continuing education programs for veterinarians and associated professions.
